What a laboratory certificate contains
A certificate is not a sales argument: it is an expert document. Here is what you read on it, line by line, and what it changes for your client.
Report number
Unique, verifiable online on the laboratory website and, on request, laser-inscribed on the girdle of the stone.
Origin statement
The wording ‘Laboratory-Grown Diamond’ appears in full, together with the growth process: HPHT or CVD.
Weight and measurements
Exact weight to the hundredth of a carat; minimum and maximum diameters and depth to the hundredth of a millimetre.
Colour
D to Z scale, graded against master stones under standardised light by two gemmologists.
Clarity
From FL to I3, under a 10x binocular loupe. Inclusions are plotted on a diagram.
Cut, polish, symmetry
Three separate grades, from Excellent to Poor. We only list Very Good and above on centre stones.
Fluorescence
Reaction to long-wave ultraviolet, from None to Very Strong. It affects both price and appearance under window lighting.
Treatments
Any post-growth treatment must be stated. Our stones ship with no undisclosed treatment.

We work with the laboratories the trade recognises. The report travels with the stone and stays verifiable, by you and by your client.
International Gemological Institute
The reference laboratory for lab-grown diamonds, with sites in Antwerp, Mumbai, New York and Hong Kong. This is our default certificate on centre stones.

Both processes produce a diamond that is chemically, physically and optically identical to a mined one. They differ only in how it is grown.
We ship HPHT in DEF colour by default — the most consistent hue across melee parcels. CVD is available on request, particularly on larger stones.
Lab-grown or natural: the same stone
A lab-grown diamond is a diamond. Same carbon atoms, same crystal structure, same optical and physical properties. Only its origin differs.

In line with French and European regulations, all our stones are sold with the explicit designation “laboratory-grown / synthetic” on invoices and certificates. Full transparency, for you and for your clients.
What the law requires, and what we apply
Lab-grown stones are perfectly legal to sell. Their naming, however, is strictly regulated — and that is good news for your shop.
French decree no. 2002-65
The words ‘synthetic’ or ‘laboratory-grown’ must appear in full, with no abbreviation, on every commercial document. The terms ‘real’, ‘fine’, ‘precious’ and ‘cultured’ are prohibited for these stones.
ISO 24016:2020
Classification, terminology and examination methods for polished diamonds. It is the shared grammar of laboratories: it makes two reports comparable.
CIBJO Blue Book
International nomenclature rules adopted by the trade, including the duty to disclose origin at every step of the chain.
Invoicing requirement
The wording appears on the quotation, delivery note, invoice and certificate, in the same type as the rest of the document. We provide ready-to-use wording.
Frequently asked questions
How do you explain your pricing?
Our offer is described as D–E–F / VVS–VS, with direct sourcing. The proposed minimum is €500 excluding tax in stones after discount, excluding IGI and shipping. The quote confirms amounts, the scope of the IGI option and shipping costs.
Is a lab-grown diamond a real diamond?
Yes. It has exactly the same chemical composition, crystal structure and optical and physical properties as a mined diamond. Only specialised laboratory equipment can tell them apart, and IGI or GIA certificates state the origin.
Is there a minimum order quantity?
Yes: 1 carat per reference. Stones are sold by the carat rather than by the piece — on 1.80 mm melee, one carat is about forty stones. Automatic discounts apply from 2 ct total.
What are the delivery times?
Production and delivery times are confirmed in the quote before acceptance, depending on references, options and destination.
Are the stones certified?
Centre stones can be delivered with an IGI or GIA certificate, with laser inscription of the report number on the girdle on request. Melee is delivered sorted and calibrated with a parcel sheet.
How should I present these stones to my clients?
Regulations require the designation “laboratory-grown” or “synthetic” diamond. We carry it on all our documents and provide you with simple materials to explain it in store.
What are the payment terms?
Bank transfer on order for first transactions, then framework terms for regular accounts. Firm quotes in euros, VAT according to the applicable intra-community regime.
